When someone says app, you think of a complete app that requires coding and has many features. However, the app we're discussing here is something that requires no coding. It has only one purpose: get an access token to be used with Zapier.
There are many articles explaining how to create an FB app, but within the context of using one with Zapier, this was necessary.
So here's how we do it:
Step1
Head to FB developer portal
Step2
Login if you aren't already logged in. You can login using your usual FB account credentials.
Step3
On the navigation menu, you will see a dropdown menu "My Apps". Click on it and then click "Add New App"
Step4
On the resulting pop-up, enter a name and contact email for the app and click "Create App". You may be required to do a simple "I'm not a robot" security check.
Step5
Facebook now asks you to select a scenario for using this app. Simply click Skip on the bottom
Now you will be directed to your app's dashboard. For the most part, you don't have to do anything here, app ID and app secret fields may be of interest. Otherwise, we're all done here.
Hope this post is clear enough.
Have a specific query? shoot a mail to contact.zapfans@gmail.com, and I’ll get back :)
